Making the healthy choice the easy choice isn't always easy to accomplish, but as the value in doing so becomes clearer, it has become a growth area. Just this year, a study from the Hudson Institute found that 99 percent of sales growth from some of the nation’s leading food companies came from lower-calorie foods. This session will feature industry executives from major food and beverage companies discussing the ways in which they are addressing increasing consumer demand for healthier and lower-calorie products. Learn about the progress they have made and the challenges they face in improving, marketing and ultimately selling healthier options.

The Building a Healthier Future Summit is one of the nation’s premiere gatherings of health experts, policy makers and business and industry leaders committed to ending childhood obesity. The Summit provides a unique opportunity for those in the private sector to sit with their nonprofit, academic and government counterparts to address an issue critical to the future of this country’s health and well-being. It is about action, not talk. It is about bringing leaders together in ways that will create new opportunities. It is about walking away with tangible, actionable solutions that will indeed help us to make the healthy choice the easy choice for all Americans, regardless of where they live, work or play.

Defense Innovation and the New Cold War

This threat environment is teaching American defense planners and policymakers hard lessons about the need to adapt and change the way the United States budgets, tests, acquires, and deploys new and existing weapon systems. Join Hudson for two panels that will discuss these lessons and why Washington urgently needs to apply them.
