Alex J. Pollock

Distinguished Senior Fellow, R Street Institute

On November 15, Hudson Institute hosted Hudson Senior Fellow Brendan Brown to discuss his new book, The Case Against 2 Per Cent Inflation: From Negative Interest Rates to a 21st Century Gold Standard. The conversation was moderated by Alex Pollock, a financial markets expert with the R Street Institute, and included a discussion on central banking.

Brown’s new book explores key questions regarding the controversial and critical issue of two-percent inflation targeting. Currently practiced by central banks in the U.S., Japan and Europe, the broadly prescribed two-percent inflation standard is contributing to the economic malaise currently gripping many advanced economies.
