As we approach the conclusion of the 2019 Indian elections, Hudson Institute will host a discussion on the future of the U.S.-India alliance. Panelists will include Hudson’s Dr. Aparna Pande, the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses’ Sujan Chinoy; U.S.-India Business Council’s Benjamin Schwartz; and U.S. Institute of Peace’s Vikram Singh.

The U.S.-India relationship has often been described as the defining partnership of the 21st century. Today, bilateral trade in goods and services stands at $115 billion, India is a major defense partner of the U.S., and India is at the core of the Trump administration’s Indo-Pacific strategy. While this strategic partnership between the world’s oldest and the world’s largest democracies is robust, it has not yet reached its full potential. Whoever wins the election, the two countries will need to continue working together to fortify this crucial alliance and strengthen the region.
