The People’s Republic of China continues to increase its political interference and military pressure on Taiwan. It has peeled away states that formerly recognized Taiwan’s sovereignty; stepped up its efforts to interfere with Taiwan’s national elections; restricted Chinese tourists to Taiwan; violated Taiwanese airspace; and repeated its threats to force what China calls “reunification.”

Hudson Institute will host an event on China’s increased bullying, examining the causes, Taiwan’s responses and how the United States should respond. Panelists include Christian Whiton, senior fellow for the Center for the National Interest; Rick Fisher, senior fellow for International Assessment and Strategy Center; Ian Easton, research fellow for Project 2049; and Riley Walters, policy analyst for Heritage Foundation Asia Studies Center. The discussion will be moderated by Hudson Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for American Seapower Seth Cropsey.

NOTE: This event is open to the press. All members of the media should RSVP to [email protected].
