Chief Technology Officer of the United States, The White House

Bill Schneider

Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute

Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with U.S. Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios on the future of artificial intelligence, America’s leading role in the global technology industry, and efforts to combat China’s global tech domination.

As Chief Technology Officer of the United States, Kratsios has an integral role in the development and execution of the Trump administration’s national technology policy agenda. Under his leadership, the White House launched initiatives in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, 5G and broadband communications, autonomous vehicles, commercial drones, STEM education, and advanced manufacturing.

What technology priorities are identified in President Trump's fiscal year 2021 budget? What edge does America bring to the global competition for dominance in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, 5G technology, and broadband communications? With countries like China leveraging technology to support an advanced authoritarian state, how will the United States ensure it maintains its leadership in these pivotal sectors?

Kratsios will weigh in on these questions and highlight how the Trump administration is advancing the development of new technologies to benefit all Americans. He will also address how the administration is championing innovations globally while safeguarding the national interest and security of the United States.
