One month has passed since President Joe Biden's trip to the Middle East. In that time, the United States and its negotiating partners met in Vienna for another inconclusive round of nuclear negotiations with Iran. Intensive fighting between Israel and a terrorist group in Gaza started and finished. Iran reportedly began training Russian forces on the use of drones in Ukraine, and the US recently charged a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps with attempting to assassinate former US National Security Advisor John Bolton and Hudson Distinguished Fellow and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Please join Hudson Institute for a discussion that will take a closer look at what has changed and what has stayed the same in the Middle East since the president's visits to Israel and Saudi Arabia. Panelists include Senior Fellow Michael Doran, Senior Fellow Jonathan Schachter, Adjunct Fellow Robert Greenway, and Foundation for Defense of Democracies Research Fellow Andrea Stricker.

Defense Innovation and the New Cold War

This threat environment is teaching American defense planners and policymakers hard lessons about the need to adapt and change the way the United States budgets, tests, acquires, and deploys new and existing weapon systems. Join Hudson for two panels that will discuss these lessons and why Washington urgently needs to apply them.
