Hudson Institute will host a daylong conference on United States–India security cooperation with leading experts and policymakers, featuring  Siddharth Iyer, the director for South Asia policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and keynote remarks by HE Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Indian ambassador to the US.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official state visit in June 2023 showcased Washington and New Delhi’s close strategic bonds. The two countries have a similar vision for the Indo-Pacific, agree on the shared threat from China, and are collaborating on defense and technology. They also share concerns on security issues like terrorism. During the conference, expert panels will discuss how to further the US-India relationship and promote cooperation on vital issues in South Asia and beyond.

Defense Innovation and the New Cold War

This threat environment is teaching American defense planners and policymakers hard lessons about the need to adapt and change the way the United States budgets, tests, acquires, and deploys new and existing weapon systems. Join Hudson for two panels that will discuss these lessons and why Washington urgently needs to apply them.
