There is nothing the Chinese Communist Party and the Hong Kong government fear more than their people. The Hong Kong government’s latest action, issuing a second round of $HK1 million bounties against Hong Kong and Hong Kong–American pro-democracy advocates, reveals this truth. The Hong Kong government’s record of engaging in transnational repression is getting longer and longer, and it merits more than strong condemnation from the United States and the international community. 

Join Hudson for a conversation with a recent target of the Hong Kong government’s repression. The panel will discuss what it is like to be wanted by the Hong Kong authorities and identify the next steps the US government and the international community can take to support Hong Kongers facing persecution.
